A six-mile stretch of a chalk stream that feeds into the Norfolk Broads has been worked on to reduce risk of flooding and create different rates of flow to oxygenate the river.

Due to recent rainfall, areas across Norfolk have flooded. With the recent issue with talks over sewage discharge into the River Wensum, this puts delicate habitats at risk from pollution from flooded bodies of water.

The development is likely to have significant effects on the environment, with the site’s proximity to protected sites. While this is a form of 'green energy', there are worries about chemical run off and construction effects.
